At River City Massage, our focus is on injury recovery, pain reduction, stress alleviation, and mobility improvement which can be achieved with a variety of techniques. Please see below for a brief description of different types of massage provided at our clinic. Every massage is performed by a Registered Massage Therapist and tailored to your wants and needs. Not sure what you need? Let's figure it out together so you can feel better and live better.
THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE
There is nothing more satisfying than a massage that hits all the right spots, getting deep into a knot and working out the pain. This type of treatment is extremely effective for chronic pain, injuries, tight muscles, and those hard to relieve knots in the back. Pressure ranges from medium to deep.
RELAXATION
Designed to relax the mind, this massage is an excellent way to relieve stress and anxiety. Whether you are seeking to maintain your physical or mental health, or simply enjoy a moment of healing, the goal of this experience is simple: to help you feel well both physically and emotionally.
HOT STONE MASSAGE
The same goodness of a relaxation massage but with warm smooth lava stones massaged gently into your body to apply soothing, deep heat to your tissues.
TMJ aka JAW MASSAGE
If you have been diagnosed with TMJD (Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction) or have jaw pain, a jaw injury, jaw fatigue, arthritis, grinding/clenching, tension headaches, or improper posture causing muscular imbalances in the jaw area; regular massage in this area can help! Treatments include inta-oral work and can be done in as little as 30 mins. (Although an hour is recommended if you also have neck and upper back stiffness, or lower back pain/hip issues)
ADD ON - BODY CONTOURING
Any of the Body Contouring treatments can be added to your massage. Lipo Laser and Butt Lifts don't require additional time and can be done together. Vacuum Therapy, Ultrasound Cavitation and Radio Frequency are an additional 30 mins each.
Got a little extra padding you'd like to get rid of? Helpful for our chilly winters, but that's what sweaters are for. (and everything's better in a sweater). Maybe your booty needs a boost? Body Contouring is non-invasive and involves ZERO downtime. However, don't be fooled, it's not a weight loss quick fix or replacement for exercise. You do need to be close to your ideal weight (for fat reduction treatments) plus it needs to be followed with good nutrition and exercise. Have more questions, send me a message.
VACUOTHERAPY
aka
BUTT LIFT
Vacuum therapy offers deep massaging effects that can make your tush more toned in appearance. It does this by decreasing muscle tension, decreasing the appearance of cellulite by stimulating the dermis and hypodermis (middle layers of skin), and increasing lymphatic flow which can reduce water retention.
VACUUM THERAPY
Similar to Vacuotherapy, Vacuum Therapy uses constant negative pressure to stimulate blood and lymph flow, decrease the appearance of cellulite and leave your skin feeling smoother and firmer.
LASER LIPO
Lipo Laser uses low level lasers to target smaller deposits of fat and slowly perforate the cells so that they deflate/shrink. The fat is then released and flushed out by your natural garbage disposal, the lymphatic system.
ULTRASOUND CAVITATION
Cavitation uses low frequency sound waves at 40KHZ that heats the subcutaneous fat (the layer below the skin) which causes the fat cells to break apart releasing their contents. Similar to lipo laser the fat is then then moved through the lymphatic system.
RADIO FREQUENCY
Radio Frequency involves using energy waves to heat the deep layer of your skin known as your dermis. This heat stimulates the production of collagen to reduce the appearance of fine lines and loose skin.
ADD ON - MASSAGE
Top up your treatment with a massage. If you thought the Butt Lift feels good, wait till you combine it with an actual massage.
Reiki is a form of alternative therapy commonly referred to as energy healing. It emerged in Japan in the late 1800’s and involves the transfer of universal energy from the practitioner’s palms to their patient. I know, I know it sounds a little fuu fuu, but hear me out. I was skeptical even after my first session, but then I had an AMAZING session and I was like "wtf was that?"
COMING... EVENTUALLY
Training takes time, and the course is self regulated.... and I'm a procrastinator.
